Danielle Cournoyer named recipient of the RUSA STARS-Atlas Systems Mentoring Award
CHICAGO — Danielle Cournoyer, library specialist, Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, is the recipient of the 2007 STARS-Atlas Mentoring Award administered by the Sharing and Transforming Access to Resources Section (STARS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA).
The award is an annual cash award of $1,000 for travel and related expenses to attend the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference, and is intended for persons interested in a mentoring opportunity. The award is given to a library practitioner new to the field of interlibrary loan, resource sharing or electronic reserves.
“The STARS-Atlas Systems Mentoring Award allows us to introduce new resource sharing staff to the STARS community and begin that all-important social networking that makes all of us more effective,” said Collette Mak, education and training committee chair. “Danielle’s clearly articulated goals for attending ALA Annual Conference made her an ideal candidate for the award and a wonderful example of the ‘nextgen’ librarian.”
The award will be presented at the STARS Interlibrary Loan Discussion Group Meeting on Saturday, June 23, 2007, 8 – 10 a.m., during the ALA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
