Rachelle Miller named Dun & Bradstreet Public Librarian Support Award recipient
CHICAGO—Rachelle Miller, business specialist, Dayton Metro Library (Ohio), is the recipient of the 2007 Dun & Bradstreet Public Librarian Support Award presented by the Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).
The citation and $1,000 travel award is sponsored by Dun & Bradstreet to support attendance at the ALA Annual Conference of a business librarian who works in a public library. The award is based on service to the community and on demonstration of need.
“Rachelle Miller’s numerous accomplishments, in addition to her normal job duties, range from a variety of library outreach activities involving local business organizations to her efforts to promote the Library and its business collection,” said Angela Jacobe, award committee chair.
“She has demonstrated in many diverse ways that she is a deserving recipient of the Dun & Bradstreet Public Librarian Support Award.”
“I’m honored to receive this award.
I am fortunate to work for Dayton Metro Library where I have the support of the administration to do what I feel is needed to provide quality reference services and programs for the area’s business people,” said Rachelle Miller, award recipient.
“I’m also lucky to have the support of the area business professionals who see the value in having excellent programs and services at the library.”
The award will be presented at RUSA Awards Ceremony on June 25, 2007, from 4 to 6 p.m., during the ALA Annual Conference in Washington.
