ALCTS announces formation of Non-English Access Steering Committee
CHICAGO - The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) is pleased to announce the formation of the Non-English Access Steering Committee. Chaired by Magda el-Sherbini of Ohio State University, the Steering Committee is responsible for providing guidance and direction to the many groups identified for implementing various recommendations to the report of the Task Force on Non-English Access.

The Task Force on Non-English Access reviews past and current activities, provides access to materials in non-English languages and makes recommendations for future actions. The report includes recommendations for specific actions concerning technical specifications, cataloging guidelines, continuing education, communication and staffing.
