ALCTS announces new publications and resources

CHICAGO - The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) is pleased to announce the release of several new publications and resources for technical services librarians and library staff.

New print resources include:

New online resources include:

  • Foreign Book Dealer’s Directory (www.ala.org/foreignbooks) is a single, fully searchable site that provides vetted lists of foreign vendors used by U.S. libraries. As libraries of all kinds devote greater attention to international events and develop programs for outreach to other countries, materials must be purchased from varying regions of the world.


  • Differences between, Changes within: Guidelines on When to Create a New Record supplements current descriptive cataloging rules by providing information about creating new records or updating existing records. This revised edition reflects changes through the final set of amendments to AACR2, which were issued in 2005. The publication is available as a free digital download from the ALCTS web site at www.ala.org/alcts/differences.
