Scholastic Library Publishing to sponsor Exhibit Hall Block Party at

the AASL National Conference in Reno, Nev.

CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), is pleased to announce that Scholastic Library Publishing will sponsor the Exhibit Hall Block Party at the AASL 13th National Conference & Exhibition in Reno, Nev., October 25 - 28, 2007.

The Exhibit Hall Block Party serves as the official exhibits opening ceremony and provides a no-conflict time for attendees to get a first look at the products and services offered by the more than 200 exhibiting companies who will fill the exhibit hall in Reno, Nev. The Block Party will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, immediately following the Opening General Session with best-selling author Dan Pink. During the party, attendees will have an opportunity to meet Pink in person and get a copy of his latest book, “A Whole New Mind,” signed in the AASL Bookstore on the exhibit floor.

“Going to the exhibits is such an important part of attending the AASL conference,” said Allison G. Kaplan, AASL National Conference Committee co-chair. “After all the years that I have been in the profession, I still find that the time I put aside to talk with vendors and to explore new products always benefits me in the long run. The best part of the Exhibit Hall Block Party is that it guarantees you time in the exhibit hall and it is a lot of fun too!”

Online registration for the AASL National Conference is now open at
http://www.ala.org/aasl/reno . The conference will feature three full-day and five half-day preconference workshops, school and educational tours, more than 100 concurrent sessions, author events and over 200 exhibiting companies.
