ASCLA hosts LSSPS Annual Dinner to benefit Century Scholarship

CHICAGO—The Libraries Serving Special Populations Section (LSSPS) of the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA) is hosting the LSSPS Annual Dinner, on June 24, 2007, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at La Tasca Spanish Tapas Bar and Restaurant during the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.

The LSSPS Annual Dinner is a popular fundraising event that offers attendees an opportunity to visit with colleagues and make new friends—sharing conversations in a social setting that encourages everyone to enjoy themselves. A portion of the proceeds raised from the event are used to benefit the Century Scholarship Fund, an annual $2,500 scholarship that funds services or accommodations for a library school student or students with disabilities admitted to an ALA-accredited library school.

This year ASCLA is proud to announce that Keystone Systems will be providing sponsorship for the event. For more information on the LSSPS Annual Dinner, visit http://www.ala.org/ala/ascla/asclaevents/asclaannual/preconferencesab/precon.htm.

Attendees can purchase tickets for the dinner alone or with their ALA Annual Conference registration, at http://www.ala.org/ala/eventsandconferencesb/annual/2007a/registration.htm.

Attendees can add the dinner to existing registration, by calling ALA member and customer service at 1-800-545-2433, pressing option #5 and asking for event #SLE to be added to conference registration. Ticket prices are $35 per person.

The Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies is a division of the American Library Association.
