Thomson Gale to sponsor the Opening General Session

at AASL National Conference

CHICAGO – Thomson Gale will sponsor the Opening General Session of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) 13th National Conference and Exhibition in Reno, October 25-28, 2007.

The Opening General Session will be held on Thursday, October 25, with Dan Pink, a best-selling author, acclaimed technology writer and business consultant, as the featured keynote speaker. Pink is a prolific author, speaker and presenter, regularly contributing to Wired magazine, The New York Times, Harvard Business Review and Fast Company. He also serves as independent consultant to CNBC's "Power Lunch," ABC's "World News Tonight," NPR's "Morning Edition," and American Public Media's "Marketplace." Pink’s latest book, “A Whole New Mind,” discusses the cultural and economic changes caused by the technological revolution and examines essential skills needed to succeed in today’s technology-driven society.

The Opening General Session will kick off the AASL National Conference, which will feature five preconference workshops, more than 100 concurrent sessions, over 200 exhibiting companies, school and educational tours, and special appearances by award-winning children’s and young adult authors.
