LAMA leads the way with new blog

CHICAGO - The Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), announces the launch of a new blog, “LEADS from LAMA.” The blog, which had a soft launch in August, replaces the electronic newsletter of the same name. It is available from the News page on the LAMA web site or directly at

“LEADS from LAMA” will feature news and information about LAMA, ALA and other organizations of interest to LAMA members. Up-to-the-minute information about awards, conferences, important dates and deadlines and other resources will be included. The blog format will enable news to be published faster and reach a wider audience through RSS feeds.

LAMA volunteer web coordinator Brian C. Gray, a science librarian at Case Western Reserve University, designed the blog. Executive Director Lorraine Olley serves as the blog’s editor.

The mission of the Library Administration and Management Association ( is to encourage and nurture current and future library leaders, and to develop and promote outstanding leadership and management practices.
