Nancy Huling named 2006 Genealogical Publishing Co./History Section Award recipient
CHICAGO — Nancy Huling, head, Reference and Research Services Division, University of Washington Libraries (Seattle), is the 2006 recipient of the Genealogical Publishing Co./History Section Award presented by the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).
The award consists of $1,500 and a citation donated by The Genealogical Publishing Company, and is given to encourage, recognize and commend professional achievement in historical reference and research librarianship.
“Nancy Huling has served RUSA and the RUSA History Section in so many ways,” said Samuel Boldrick, award committee chair. “She has served as a member of the Bibliography and Indexes and Local History Committees, chaired conference programs, and was editor of the History Section’s column in
RUSA Update for a decade. She moved up to the History Section Executive Committee as chair and served as RUSA president. A grateful RUSA membership want to recognize her and thank her for all her past and future efforts on our behalf.”
The award will be presented at RUSA Awards Ceremony on June 26, 2006, from 4 to 6 p.m., during the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans.
