Springer to sponsor conference registration bags

CHICAGO - The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce that full conference registrants of the 2006 ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans (June 21-28) will be receiving registration bags thanks to a generous donation by Springer.

The blue and black canvas tote style bags will be handed out beginning on Thursday, June 22, when registration opens. The bags feature the "@ your library®" logo in various international languages, as well as the conference logo on one side of the bag and the Springer name on the other.

"It's been a few years since we have been able to provide bags to our conference-goers," said Deidre Ross, director of ALA Conference Services. "We are thrilled that Springer stepped up to provide this valuable addition to our annual meeting."

"As we unveil our new eBooks program at the ALA Annual Conference, we're happy to be able to provide bags for the many ALA attendees this year," said Olaf Ernst, Global Director, eBooks, Springer.

Springer, an ALA Library Champion, is the world's second largest Scientific, Technical and Medical (STM) publisher. At the annual meeting, Springer will be unveiling its new eBooks program with more than 10,000 eBooks available on the newly relaunched SpringerLink (www.springerlink.com).
Springer's conference booth is #3316.
