announces 2006 Best of Show winners

CHICAGO - The Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2006 Best of Show competition, sponsored by LAMA/Public Relations and Marketing Section/Swap and Shop Committee.

The awards recognize excellence in 11 categories, including reading club materials, annual reports, newsletters and - new this year - web sites and home pages, among other categories. Winners were selected for four ranges of library budget, allowing all types of libraries - regardless of budget - to participate in the competition. A panel of public relations and library experts evaluated more than 360 pieces from all types of libraries across North America. Entries were judged on content, originality, design, format and effectiveness.

Swap & Shop winners and honorable mention recipients will receive awards Sunday, June 25 at 12:30 p.m. at the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans.
