American Libraries columnist to blog at Hectic Pace
CHICAGO - Andrew K. Pace, who writes the popular "Technically Speaking" column in each issue of
American Libraries magazine, is launching the
Hectic Pace technology blog in conjunction with the Annual Conference in New Orleans.
Head of information technology at North Carolina State University Libraries, Pace has been
American Libraries' go-to guru for cutting-edge technology news and views since 2004.
His disarming communication style is a natural fit for the no-holds-barred nature of blog journalism.
"Gotta love the guy," Library Stuff blogger Steven M. Cohen posted in February, adding that he regards Pace as "a straight shooter who likes confrontation."
"Andrew Pace has built a reputation as one of the most astute observers of trends in library and information science and technology," said
American Libraries Editor-in-Chief Leonard Kniffel. "Hectic Pace will give readers an opportunity to enjoy expanded commentary, as well as criticism, in a freewheeling format that is bound to keep vendors wondering what he'll say next."
Pace plans to greet conference-goers at
American Libraries Exhibit Booth 1660 Sunday, June 25 and Monday, June 26 from 10 to 11 a.m.
