John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Awards to be announced at ALA Midwinter Meeting

CHICAGO - The winners of the 60th annual John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Awards will be announced at a press conference open to the public on Saturday, January 21, 4 p.m., in the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center, Room 103A, in San Antonio. T he H.W. Wilson Company and the Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) sponsor the annual contest.

Presented annually since 1946, the John Cotton Dana awards honor outstanding library public relations programs that support a specific project, goal or activity, or a sustained, ongoing program. The contest is open to all libraries and agencies that promote library service.

A committee of the LAMA Public Relations and Marketing Section will select the winners of the 2006 competition during the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Meeting in San Antonio. The award citations and grants will be presented during the 2006 ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans by the H. W. Wilson Company and Foundation at a reception to be held on Monday, June 26, 2006.
