Registration is open for ACRL's first completely online conference
CHICAGO – Register now for “Innovate and Motivate: Next Generation Libraries,” the first-ever Virtual Conference offered jointly by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), and EDUCAUSE. The Joint Virtual Conference will be held completely online and will offer a forum for an energizing exchange of ideas focusing on technology and academic librarianship.

. Registration for the Joint Virtual Conference is available at

Like its face-to-face counterpart, the Joint Virtual Conference will run on a real-time schedule. The conference will feature synchronous activities, such as live web casts, that begin and end at a certain time. Other synchronous and asynchronous activities will be offered as part of the conference, allowing for convenient scheduling and flexibility. The conference will take place in a LearningTimes Online Conference Community, which will provide an environment in which groups of participants, both small and large, can gather electronically to learn, collaborate, and network.
The Joint Virtual Conference will feature:
- Live, interactive web casts of keynote speakers, featured presentations, and concurrent sessions
- Synchronous online roundtable discussions
- Text-based discussion boards
- Asynchronous online poster sessions
- Speaker materials including PowerPoint presentations, bibliographies, and biographies
- Unlimited access to the online conference community of ALL conference programs for one-year after the event

Technical requirements: Minimum technical requirements include an Internet-ready computer with Java Runtime Environment/Web Start, and speakers. A microphone is strongly recommended.
Registration fees are: ACRL member - $195; CNI member - $195; EDUCAUSE member - $195; ALA member - $245; Nonmember - $285; Student - $95.
Registration includes: access to all conference programs including live, interactive web casts; online roundtable discussions; threaded discussion boards, online poster sessions; speaker handouts and biographies; and unlimited access to the online conference community for one year.
