RUSA hosts Awards Reception to honor the best books of 2007

RUSA announces best books for reference

and adult readers January 21

CHICAGO--The Collection Development and Evaluation Section (CODES) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) is hosting its annual Awards Recognition Reception on January 21, 2007, from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m., in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Spanish Ballroom, during the ALA Midwinter Meeting in Seattle.

Attendees are invited to join colleagues and members of the publishing industry at a cocktail reception honoring the best literature of the year for adult readers and in reference. Learn who will be selected as the 2007 recipients of the Sophie Brody Medal, Dartmouth Medal, Notable Books List (the best fiction, nonfiction and poetry for adults), Louis Shores/Greenwood Publishing Group Award (the most notable review writer in a given year) and the List of Outstanding Reference Sources (a listing of the best reference sources each year).

“This exciting awards event provides an opportunity for attendees to be among the first to hear what America's top librarians have chosen as the best books of the year,” said Cathleen A. Towey, reception committee chair.
