ALA offers members travel affinity program for personal travel
Proceeds will support the Cultural Communities Fund
(CHICAGO) The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce the availability of discounted travel tours for ALA members as an added benefit of membership. This benefit is available through Collette Vacations, which offers escorted tours, cruise programs and learning vacations to all seven continents.
A portion of the proceeds of travel sales under this program will be returned to the ALA as a royalty to support the Cultural Communities Fund (CCF). Once demand has been established, there are possibilities for future tours that focus on libraries and library history.
The Cultural Communities Fund, created by the ALA Public Programs Office, is an endowment that supports local libraries in establishing community and cultural programming. The first of its kind, the fund will help libraries of all types develop and host cultural programs for communities across the country. To find out more or to make a donation, visit
