RUSA to present preconference, “Currents of Change,” on June 24 during Annual Conference

CHICAGO—The Sharing and Transforming Access to Resources Section (STARS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) will present a preconference, “Currents of Change: Resource Sharing in Turbulent Times,” on Friday, June 24, 2005, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., during the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Chicago.

During this one-day educational event attendees will explore the library as a system, the changing needs and expectations of library users, especially “millennial” or “digital-native” users, and practical strategies for managing change, such as system mapping and other process improvement techniques. Librarians and library staff from academic, medical and public libraries also will share real-life experiences and outcomes using the techniques discussed.

The featured speakers are: Sara Laughlin, principal, Sara Laughlin & Associates, and Denise Shockley, associate, Sara Laughlin & Associates.
