Ten ALA members to receive Conference Sponsorship awards

CHICAGO -- Ten members of the American Library Association (ALA) will receive EBSCO ALA Conference Sponsorship awards, assisting their attendance to the 2005 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago.

The awards cover up to $1,000 in expenses and are donated by EBSCO Subscription Services. Award winners will be recognized at a breakfast held in their honor during the conference.

The winners were selected based on a 250-word essay summarizing, “How attending the Annual Conference would contribute to my professional development.”

This year's winners are:

• Michelle Boule, The University of Houston Libraries , Houston

• Donna Erisman, Chartiers Valley Intermediate School, Pittsburgh

• Marianne Fitzgerald, Severna Park High School, Severna Park, Md.

• Marquita L. Harnett, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, N.M.

• Anne Hoffman, Catholic Area Schools of Eau Claire, Augusta, Wis.

• Robin Imperial, Cumberland Public Library, Fayetteville, N.C.

• Rowena Li, Bayside, Bayside High School Library, N.Y.

• Nicole Schulert, Whittier Public Library, Whittier, Calif.

• Joni Stine, North Arkansas College, Harrison, Ark.

Member of the 2005 EBSCO Conference Sponsorship Award committee are: Chair Marilyn L. All ALA recognition award winners will be acknowledged in a display at the ALA Annual Conference.
