ALA invited to 3rd Annual National Book Festival
The American Library Association (ALA) will highlight libraries and reading on Saturday, October 4, 2003 during the third annual National Book Festival on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The festival is sponsored by the Library of Congress and hosted by First Lady Laura Bush.
“This is an excellent opportunity to help create public awareness about programs available at libraries around the country,” said ALA Executive Director Keith Michael Fiels.
Representatives from ALA will be located in the “Let’s Read America” Pavilion I, and will be distributing information on Teen Read Week, Banned Books Week, and other ALA-sponsored initiatives. Copies of ALA review journals
Booklist and
Booklinks, as well as
American Libraries, will be available to festival participants.
