2003 Children/Youth Book Award posters are now available

The American Library Association (ALA) announces the release of the 2003 Children/Youth Book Award Posters featuring the winning and honor books for the 2003 Caldecott; Newbery; Coretta Scott King Author; Coretta Scott King Illustrator; Robert F. Sibert; and Michael L. Printz awards.
These posters highlight the best in this year’s children’s books.

Produced in full color, the 11” x 22” posters are available individually or as a set of 6; the Coretta Scott King awards are featured on two posters, one for the author awards and one for the illustrator awards.
The posters can be found at www.alastore.ala.org under 2003 Award Product.
This is the fourth year that award-winning titles have been featured on posters by ALA Graphics.

The Caldecott and Newbery award books are often a central display area within a library, school media center or bookstore.
These posters highlight for customers and patrons the newest books in this venerable series of awards.

Since it’s inception in 1970, the Coretta Scott King award has recognized authors
and illustrators of African descent whose distinguished books promote an understanding and appreciation of the American Dream.

Likewise, the Robert F. Sibert award poster, which recognizes notable informational books for children, and the Michael L. Printz award poster, which recognizes outstanding works in Young Adult literature, bring additional focus to related sections within the library, school media center, or bookstore.

Recognized worldwide for their high quality, ALA awards guide parents, educators, librarians and others in selecting the best materials for youth and children. Committees composed of librarians and other children’s literature experts select the winners.
