LAMA announces Diana V. Braddom FRFDS Scholarship recipients

Jolee June Hamlin and Deborah Joseph Schmidle have been named the winners of the Diana V. Braddom Fund Raising and Financial Development Section (FRFDS) Scholarship 2003, presented by the Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) FRFDS. This is the first year this award will be presented.

The Braddom FRFDS Scholarship recognizes librarians from all types of libraries who have had no previous formal fund raising training and have a genuine need for fund raising skills.

Hamlin, library services and technology act specialist for the Library of Michigan and Schmidle, director of library and educational service for NyLink (New York) were selected based on their positions to develop fund raising training program for librarians in their respective states.

Recipients of the Braddom FRFDS Scholarship receive $1,000 to attend the ALA Annual Conference and a plaque.

The awards will be presented Sunday, June 22, 2003, at 1:30 p.m., during the LAMA President’s Program Sutton Place Hotel, Royal Sutton Ballroom, at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Toronto.
