Leaders of the Pack: LAMA brings up the next generation of library

The Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) invites 10 dynamic men and women who aspire to be future leaders of the library profession to become “Leaders of the Pack.”

In this three-year project, selected participants will develop their skills and professional networks while contributing to LAMA’s commitment to outstanding programs, life‑long learning and leadership development for library administrators and managers.
Each participant will be paired with a LAMA mentor and appointed to a committee.
The participants also will receive a one-year LAMA membership, a travel stipend for attending the American Library Association (ALA) 2004 Midwinter Meeting and Annual Conference, free registration at a LAMA institute or preconference, and other benefits.

Nominate yourself or one of your staff as a candidate for this exciting new project funded by the ALA/World Book Award.
To be considered, a candidate must:
1) be a current member of ALA, or join when selected as a participant; 2) not be a current or past LAMA member; 3) be willing to commit to attending ALA Midwinter Meetings and Annual Conferences for 2004 through 2006; and 4) submit an application.

The application deadline is September 15, 2003, and candidates will be notified by October 24.
