Join ACRL in Paris for the WESS European Conference
Join members of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Western European Studies Section (WESS), the Association des Bibliothécaires Français, and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, at for the WESS European conference, “Migrations in Society, Culture, and the Library,” in Paris, France, March 22 – 26, 2004. The conference is limited to 200-participants. Members who are interested in attending are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
The WESS European Conference will set the course for Western European collection development in the new millennium, and offers outstanding opportunities for professional growth and networking.
Discover how migration-related transformations in Western Europe are affecting collection strategies of US and European libraries, and hear experts from both sides of the Atlantic illuminate migrations as a demographic, social, cultural, and technological force in both Western European society and culture.
Discuss opportunities and challenges with colleagues, and explore new transatlantic initiatives between individuals, institutions and organizations.

don, Université de Montréal, Canada; Friedrich Heckmann, University of Bamberg, director of the European Forum for Migration Studies; Hans-Jürgen Lüsebrink, University of Saarbrücken; and David Seaman, director of the Digital Library Federation in Washington.
The conference also includes a program at the French book fair Salon du Livre.
Registration will include the conference program, events at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, entry to the Salon du Livre, and receptions.
