Celebrate spring with the new ALA Graphics catalog
With spring just around the corner, it's time to start planning for the spring library celebrations: National Library Week (April 6 - 12), Black History Month (February), Women's History Month (March), and El día de los Niños/El día de los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day) April 30. The new Spring catalog is full of innovative products that will help librarians promote literacy, reading and libraries.
National Library Week, April 6 - 12, 2003
ALA Graphics is helping connect communities and their libraries by supporting National Library Week with an array of new products featuring a new digital art CD and vibrant posters, bookmarks and balloons. The innovative CD allows libraries to save money by creating their own beautiful, customized artwork. The CD includes graphics for posters, bookmarks, library cards, stationary, Web banners and much more. To complement the National Library Week poster, ALA Graphics also has a package of 25 colorful, helium-quality balloons that carry the @ your library™ slogan on the front.
El día de los Niños/El día de los Libros is April 30th
In honor of El día de los Niños/El día de los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day), ALA Graphics is releasing an exceptional poster and bookmark by award-winning artist Susan Guevara. The celebration is held on April 30th each year.
Make a Statement @ your library
Colorful new READ t-shirts are being introduced in the Graphics catalog. A bright blue tee with READ in bold gold lettering is available for children. A cool black tee with READ in silver metallic lettering is available for tweens, teens and adults. Both shirts are high quality 100 percent cotton, 6 oz. weight, and solid construction. A stylish red and white pen with the READ logo is a new addition to the Graphics catalog.
Who's new in the Celebrity poster series?
In addition to being a star basketball player with the New Jersey Nets,
Jason Kidd is a dedicated father, library patron and Olympic Gold Medallist.
Missy Elliott also joins the Celebrity READ poster series. This Grammy winner is a singer, writer, arranger, producer, talent scout, record boss and avid reader. Popular NASCAR driver
Matt Kenseth finds thrills on the racetrack and at the library. He joins Jason and Missy as the latest celebrities in the READ poster series.
Boundless Energy @ your library
Introducing the newest member of the Graphics family-Olivia! This irresistible pig has endless energy. Featured in Ian Falconer's award-winning series of children's books, Olivia loves to read. Her enthusiasm for books is appealing to both children and adults. The poster and bookmark were produced in conjunction with Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, Silver Lining Productions, Ltd. and Ian Falconer.
Customization @ your library™ - Posters, Banners and Bookmarks
Make a splash with customized posters, banners and bookmarks. ALA has enhanced the customization program with more design options and easier ordering. This is a great way for libraries to promote their services to the community by adding their name, address, Web site, logo, hours and special message to a variety of colorful, ALA-exclusive bookmarks. The National Library Week 2003 signature poster and bookmark are available for customization with your library's information.
The next deadline for customized bookmarks is February 14, 2003.
