online.
Andrea Peterson's
Guide 8 offers three techniques to simplify management of Web sites: Server-Side Includes (SSI), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and Perl. Get started quickly with step-by-step instructions for implementations and examples of how these tools can be used in an actual library environment. Includes further reading. Web managers in all types of libraries will want this practical guide.
Guide 9 includes chapters from five authors: Cindy Murdock; Eric Schnell; Kevin S. Clarke; Gordon Paynter; and Eric Lease Morgan. In the information technology world, Open Source Software (OSS) is growing in importance and influence. This guide introduces the reader to OSS and how it could benefit libraries, and illustrates this with a variety of library projects that have used and developed Open Source Software.
Guide 9 includes practical information on installation of the software and links to additional resources. Systems librarians and anyone who makes decisions about technology in libraries will want this guide.
LITA is a division of ALA.
