Dun & Bradstreet Public Librarian Support Award recipient announced
Sandra G. Rizzo, business reference librarian, City of Mesa Library (Ariz.), is the recipient of the 2002 Dun & Bradstreet Public Librarian Support Award presented by the Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).
The citation and $1,000 travel award is sponsored by Dun & Bradstreet to support attendance at the ALA Annual Conference of a business librarian who works in a public library. The award is based on service to the community and on demonstration of need.
"Sandy has reached out to business groups, economic groups, lawmakers as well as local government," stated Mark E. Anderson, chair of the award committee. "In addition, she has never lost sight of the local patrons coming in for business reference assistance. Sandy's programming, bibliographies, outreach and collection development reflect this dual purpose which makes the Mesa Public Library a valuable and vibrant business resource."
The award will be presented at the RUSA Awards Ceremony on June 17, 2002, from 4 to 6 p.m., during the ALA Annual Conference in Atlanta.
