CHOICE announces launch of Site License Edition of ChoiceReviews.online
CHOICE, the prestigious academic review journal, today announced the launch of the new Site License Edition of its Web review service,
ChoiceReviews.online.
The Site License Edition of
ChoiceReviews.online provides IP-based access to the acclaimed CHOICE review database. Like its older sibling, the Password Edition of
ChoiceReviews.online launched in April 1999, the Site License Edition offers 24/7 Internet access to 80,000+ CHOICE reviews. Distinctive features of this newest addition to the CHOICE family of publications include:
- Easy campus wide and institutional access. Access to the Site License Edition is controlled via IP address. Access to the Site License Edition is automatically available to any and all authorized users on the subscribing institution's campus or institutional network.
- New Selected Records Page allows all users to create, edit, E-mail and print customized lists of reviews while online.
- Reasonable pricing. Subscriptions to the Site License Edition start at $250 per year for one (1) simultaneous user.
"We are delighted to be able to offer this new product to CHOICE customers," said Irving Rockwood, CHOICE Editor & Publisher. "We have received many requests for an IP-based version of
ChoiceReviews.online, and we are pleased to announce the availability of the Site License Edition. Thanks to the Site License Edition, libraries can now easily provide their patrons - staff, faculty, students, and walk-in's - with access to CHOICE reviews. We think this is an important development for both CHOICE and our customers. Ultimately, we hope it will be seen as an important development for library patrons as well, another step on the road to providing them with quick, convenient access to CHOICE's acclaimed, reliable and concise reviews."
Established in 1964, CHOICE publishes reviews of over 6,500 new books and Internet sources annually, making it one of the most comprehensive English language review journals available today. CHOICE is a publication of the Association of College & Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association. For more information, visit the CHOICE Web site at
