Campaign for America's Libraries supports LAMA's baseball benefit
To celebrate its partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB), the Campaign for America's Libraries is partnering with the Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) for a raffle of @ your library™ promotional gear.
LAMA is hosting an Endowment benefit at the game between the Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox on Friday, June 14, 2002, at 7:35 p.m., during the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Atlanta. Those who purchase benefit tickets by May 10, 2002, will be entered into a raffle for "Get on Top of Your Game @ your library" pennants, "Get ahead @ your library™ " baseball caps, and posters featuring baseball great Jackie Robinson, thanks to the generosity of the campaign.
There will be one raffle ticket for each baseball ticket purchased. Prizes will be mailed to winners by June 1. For more information contact Doll Thorn-Hawkins at 800-545-2433, ext. 5032;
dthorn@ala.org.
Event proceeds will benefit the LAMA Endowment Fund, which provides scholarship opportunities for library students to support their pursuit of a master's of library science degree. The Endowment Fund also provides professional development grant opportunities for LAMA members to attend LAMA Regional Institutes and for exchange between LAMA members and international librarians to support attendance at international library association meetings and ALA Annual Conference.
MLB is a founding partner in @ your library™ , The Campaign for America's Libraries, a five-year public education effort sponsored by ALA to communicate the value of libraries and librarians in the 21st century. For more information on the campaign, visit the
