Australia, Korea and Kazakhstan sign on to Campaign for the World's Libraries
The Council of Australian State Libraries, the Korean Library Association and the Library Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan have joined The Campaign for the World's Libraries.
They are part of a growing list of countries that have jumped on board the campaign as new international partners. Mexico, Japan, Turkey, Iceland, Italy and Canada (which includes four provincial associations) also have signed trademark agreements to use the @ your library™ brand in their respective countries.
Korea and Kazakhstan have each translated the @ your library brand into their native languages. Australia will be utilizing the logo in English. To date, @ your library has been translated into Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Kazak, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese. All translations can be found
online under Download Logos.
A partnership between the American Library Association (ALA) and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), The Campaign for the World's Libraries was unveiled last August during the 67th Annual IFLA Conference in Boston, Mass. It is based on the United States program and is designed to showcase public, school, academic and special libraries worldwide.
