ALSC announces President's Program

The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) Charlemae Rollins President's Program, "Exorcising Ghosts from the Nursery: How Libraries Build Resilient Children," will be held Monday, June 17, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., during the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Atlanta.

Dynamic speaker Robin Karr-Morse, author of Ghosts from the Nursery: Tracing the Roots of Violence (Atlantic Monthly, 1997), explains the conditions that foster the growth of delinquent and antisocial tendencies in children, and suggests ways society can reverse these trends. Learn how libraries can address these challenges through innovative programs and collaborations.

Prior to the president's program, start your day at the ALSC Awards Presentation and Membership Meeting from 8:30-11 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served. Come celebrate the Sibert, Batchelder and Carnegie Medal winners and congratulate our scholarship and professional award winners.

For more information about these events, please contact ALSC at 1-800-545-2433, ext. 2163 or e-mail
