AASL introduces new membership feature

American Association of School Librarians (AASL) members will receive highlights of timely association-related news, resources and professional development updates through
AASL Hotlinks a new monthly e-mail newsletter.

Each issue of
AASL Hotlinks, which made its debut in April 2002, will direct members to highlights of new articles available in
Knowledge Quest, AASL's bi-monthly journal;
Knowledge Quest on the Web,; and
School Library Media Research (
SLMR). The e-mail newsletter also will feature previews of upcoming continuing education opportunities at association conferences and institutes; resources available on the AASL and American Library Association (ALA) Web sites; and new products, services and much more.

AASL members will automatically receive
AASL Hotlinks each month at the e-mail address that is on file with the Association. Members who would like to receive
AASL Hotlinks, but don't know if their correct e-mail address is on file can add or update their e-mail address at
membership@ala.org or 1-800-545-2433, menu option 5. Please include your full name and membership number in all correspondence.

Although the newsletter itself is delivered as e-mail, personal members can view back issues of
AASL Hotlinks in a Web-based archive at
https://members.ala.org/aasl (login required).

AASL, a division of the ALA, promotes the improvement and extension of library media services in elementary and secondary schools as a means of strengthening the total education program. Its mission is to advocate excellence, facilitate change, and develop leaders in the school library media field.
