2002 ProQuest Scholarship winners named

The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce the winners of the ProQuest Scholarship.

The recipients include:

  • Debra G. Hobbs of Springdale, Ariz., who will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
  • Allaina M. Howard of Arvada, Colo. who will be attending Emporia State University
  • Rebecca Modys Jones of St. Petersburg, Fla., who will be attending Florida State University
  • Claudette D. Rocan of Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada), who will be attending the University of British-Columbia
  • Renee A. Siconolfi of Carrboro, N.C., who will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
  • Christopher A. Sweet of Metamora, Ill., who will be attending the University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana

The scholarships are provided as a result of donations to the ALA Annual Scholarship Bash by ProQuest, archivers of more than 5.5 billion pages of information, spanning 500 years of scholarship, in formats that range from print to microform to digital. The $3,000 scholarships are awarded to individuals pursuing a master's degree in library and information studies.

Winners were recognized in June during ALA's Annual Conference.
