Denise Beaubien Bennett, reference librarian and engineering selector and online coordinator at the Marston Science Library, University of Florida, Gainesville, is the 2002 recipient of the Machine-Assisted Reference Section (MARS) Recognition Certificate, also known as the My Favorite Martian Award.
The certificate is administered by (MARS), a section of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). It is given to an individual to recognize excellence in service to MARS.
"This honor is awarded to Denise Beaubien Bennett for her leadership within MARS and her commitment to excellence in MARS programs and activities; for her outreach to fellow Martians and her consistent willingness to act as a resource for her colleagues; and for her dedication to organizational efficiency, continuity and quality programming," stated William A.
