2002 Christopher J. Hoy/ERT Scholarship winner named

Christopher S. Walter of Haddon Heights, N.J., is the winner of the American Library Association (ALA) Christopher J. Hoy/ERT Scholarship.

Hoy was the director of ALA Conference Services for more than 20 years. The $3,000 scholarship was established by a donation from Hoy's family and the Exhibits Round Table. The scholarship is awarded to persons pursuing a master's degree in library and information studies.

Walter currently works at the Haddon Heights Public library and began working there part-time when he was in high school. He says he had no idea how much of an impact that job would have on his life. Walter developed a passion for librarianship and can't picture himself working in any other environment. He will be attending Drexel University.

Walter was recognized in June during the ALA Annual Conference in Atlanta.
