New editor named for
Telecommunications Electronic Reviews
Adriene Lim, systems librarian at Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich., has been named editor of
Telecommunications Electronic Reviews (
TER) for the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). This important member-volunteer position provides editorial direction for LITA's electronic-only telecommunications and networking reviewing publication. The appointment is for a three-year, renewable term.
"It is a pleasure to pass the
TER torch to Adriene Lim. She brings many ideas and much enthusiasm to the publication," stated Thomas Wilson, founding
TER editor and current chair of the LITA Publications Committee.
“Tom’s leadership will be a hard act to follow,” Lim said. “But I hope to continue improving the publication and ensuring that relevant, interesting and timely reviews of technical resources are provided for all members of our profession.”
At Wayne State University, Lim provides a broad array of technical and professional user services to the university and 21 other Detroit Area Library Network (DALNET) libraries. She is currently helping to manage DALNET’s shared library information system and is involved in new-member system migrations and development of databases of unique information for an emerging information hub in Southeastern Michigan.
She has served on the board of the Michigan Library Association’s Technical Services Round Table and ALA’s Feminist Task Force.
Lim has a master’s degree in library and information studies and bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Wayne State University and is currently working on a master’s in computer science.
