Mary Davis Fournier has joined the staff of the American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office as a project manager, effective September 4, where her primary responsibility will be management of the
LIVE! @ your library initiative and other projects.

Fournier was most recently program director for the Printer's Row Book Fair in Chicago, an annual celebration including readings, panels, special events and bookseller booths. She also coordinated the Printer's Row Authors in the Schools program in selected Chicago Public Schools. Prior to returning to the Chicago area, Fournier was cultural programming assistant and author liaison for the renowned Miami Book Fair International. She also has worked as a bookseller and editorial staffer at several publications, including "Advertising Age" and "Miami New Times." She holds a bachelor's degree in English and history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

"We are delighted that Mary will be working with us," director of the ALA Public Programs Office Deb Robertson said. "She brings a wealth of experience in the world of cultural programming, publishing and working with writers."

LIVE! @ your library is an initiative of the ALA Public Programs Office, which provides opportunities for libraries to present theme-based cultural programs for adult and family audiences featuring live appearances by literary, visual, and performing artists. It is funded by the Wallace-Reader's Digest Funds, the National Endowment for the Arts and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

The ALA Public Programs Office helps libraries excel as community cultural centers by providing librarians with leadership, resources, training and networking opportunities.
