Dun & Bradstreet Public Librarian Support Award recipient announced

Lisa Holbrook, business reference specialist at the Ela Area Public Library, Lake Zurich, Ill., is the recipient of the 2001 Dun & Bradstreet Public Librarian Support Award presented by the Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).

The citation and $1,000 travel award is sponsored by Dun & Bradstreet to support a business librarian, who works in a public library, attending the ALA Annual Conference. The award is based on service to the community and demonstration of need.

"Lisa Holbrook brings the library to the local businesses by her involvement with the chamber of commerce and its projects, while concurrently bringing 'business' to the library with her outreach, programs and collection/Web development," Mark E. Anderson, chair of the award committee stated. "Lisa Holbrook's involvement in the business community and commitment to the library has made the Ela Area Public Library a vital and visible source of business information in her community."

The award will be presented June 18, 2001, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., at the RUSA Awards Ceremony during the ALA Annual Conference in San Francisco.
