BRASS Primark Student Travel Award recipient named
Susan Alice Shultz, graduate assistant at the Commerce Library, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is the recipient of the 2001 Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) Primark Student Travel Award. BRASS, a section of the Reference and Users Services Association (RUSA), presents the award to a candidate who has demonstrated an interest in pursuing a career as a business reference librarian and the potential to be a leader in the profession.
The $1,000 award, donated by Primark Global Information Services, part of the Thomson Corporation, enables a student enrolled in an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited master's program to attend the ALA Annual Conference.
"Susan Alice Shultz comes to business librarianship with extensive work experience in information intensive operations at Booz, Allen & Hamilton and Deloitte & Touche," Award Committee Chair Ryan Womack said.
"Since returning to school, she has shown dedication and commitment to providing outstanding library service at the Commerce Library," Womack continued. "Susan Alice Shultz has the experience, skill and motivation to become a leader in the library profession."
The award will be presented June 18, 2001, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the RUSA Awards Ceremony during the ALA Annual Conference in San Francisco.
