ALCTS announces The Paul Banks and Carolyn Harris Preservation Award recipient
Sarah Buchanan, associate professor, University of Pittsburgh School of Information Science, received The Paul Banks and Carolyn Harris Preservation Award, presented by the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).
The award, a citation and $1,500 grant donated by Preservation Technologies, L.P., recognizes the contribution of a professional preservation specialist who has been active in the field of preservation and/or conservation for library and/or archival materials.
"Buchanan received the award for her leadership and dedication to the preservation of library materials," Award Committee Chair Barbara Berger Eden said.
Buchanan received a master's in library science from San Jose State University and is a member of ALA, ALCTS and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), a division of the ALA.
The award will be presented Monday, June 18, at 9:30 a.m., during the ALA Annual Conference in San Francisco.
