ALA names 2001 EBSCO/NMRT Scholarship winner
Barbara D. Davidson of Dripping Springs, Texas, has been named the recipient of the 2001 EBSCO/ New Members Round Table (NMRT) Scholarship awarded by the American Library Association (ALA).
The $1,000 scholarship was established with donations from EBSCO Subscriptions Services. The scholarship is awarded to a person pursuing a master's degree in library and information studies.
For the past six years, Davidson has worked as the librarian at Dripping Springs Primary School. She is thrilled to be able to inspire her students, who range from Pre-K to third grade, to develop a hunger for knowledge, and takes pleasure in introducing them to the resources to satisfy that hunger.
Davidson has a bachelor's degree in music education from Baylor University. She will be attending the University of Texas at Austin.
Davidson was recognized at the NMRT membership meeting in June during the ALA Annual Conference in San Francicso.
