ACRL announces publication of CLIP Note #30
The Association of College and Research Librarians (ACRL) has recently published CLIP Note #30,
Travel, Sabbatical, and Study Leave Policies in College Libraries, compiled by Carolyn Gaskell and Allen S. Morrill. CLIP Notes contain practical ideas for managing your library's programs and services.
More than ever, librarians are expected to keep up-to-date with library policies and practices and to keep current with new trends and technological changes. Attending conferences and workshops, taking sabbaticals and study leaves have become increasingly important to meet the expectations for continuing education and participation in professional activities.
CLIP Note #30 includes examples of written polices at college libraries covering travel and reimbursement policies, grants of sabbaticals and leaves of absence or study leave policies. The publication can be used by library administrators desiring to design new or better polices for allocation of these resources.
CLIP Notes #30 is $23 for non-ACRL members and $21 for ACRL members. For more information, contact Hugh Thompson at 312-280-2517 or email at
