2001 ProQuest Scholarship winners named

The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce the winners of the ProQuest Scholarship. The recipients include:

  • Karen S. Fischer of Athens, Ga., who will be attending the University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana
  • Michael Harkovitch of Seattle, who will be attending the University of Washington
  • Melissa A. Hofmann of Hamilton, N.J., who will be attending Rutgers University
  • Kerry Gleason of Madison, Wis., who will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison
  • Kelley S. Nicholson of Stafford, Va., who will be attending Southern Connecticut State University.

The scholarships are provided as a result of donations to the ALA Annual Scholarship Bash by ProQuest, archivers of more than 5.5 billion pages of information, spanning 500 years of scholarship, in formats that range from print to microform to digital. The $3,000 scholarships are awarded to individuals pursuing a master's degree in library and information studies.

Winners were recognized in June during the Annual Conference of the American Library Association.
