CHICAGO—Core hosts the webinar “The Search For Meaningful Work: Overcoming Low Morale, Quiet Quitting, and Dead End Jobs” on October 24, 2023, at 1 p.m. CT. This presentation centers on creating a meaningful work life while also exploring how to break free from unfavorable elements. Low morale, quiet quitting, and dead end jobs refer to the subtle and gradual disengagement of library workers from their professional roles, often due to little opportunity for promotion or advancement, inadequate support, a lack of pay increases, repetitive tasks, low autonomy, and a negative work culture. There will be a discussion on actionable steps that individuals and managers can take to create a more inclusive career development environment. This talk will be based on the presenter's ALA articles "Don't Ignore Quiet Quitting" and "When Librarianship Becomes a Dead End Job."
