CHICAGO – The American Library Association today announced that celebrated children’s book author and poet Nikki Grimes and award-winning illustrator Brian Pinkney will present at the ALA 2023 Annual Conference & Exhibition, June 22-27, 2023, in Chicago. Also joining the speaker roster, New York Times bestselling author Rick Riordan and acclaimed author Mark Oshiro. Additional speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
Registration for the conference is open, and discounted rates are available through March 31, 2023.
Award-winning children’s book author and poet Nikki Grimes and illustrator Brian Pinkney will discuss “A Walk in the Woods,” their upcoming powerful novel that details a moving account of loss when a boy takes a walk in the woods and makes a discovery that changes his understanding of his father.
And Rick Riordan, middle-grade series author of five #1 New York Times best-selling books with millions of copies sold throughout the world, including "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," and award-winning young adult author Mark Oshiro will share their new book, “The Sun and the Star,” a fantasy novel that follows Nico Di Angelo, the son of Hades, and Will Solace, the son of Apollo, the two most popular characters in the “Percy Jackson” saga series.
The Annual Conference & Exhibition will include 200+ education sessions, the News You Can Use series with updates that highlight new research, innovations, and advances in libraries, memorable featured authors and celebrity speakers, interactive discussion groups, and networking opportunities.
