CHICAGO—On Friday, June 24, Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures will present the half-day preconference "The New and Official RDA Toolkit: A Practical Approach" during the 2022 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition in Washington, DC. In this program, the presenters will combine presentations with hands-on practice sessions aimed at helping participants to gain both a comprehensive understanding of RDA and a hands-on practice by using the RDA Toolkit and related tools, including LC-PCC Policy Statements and MGD. Topics covered during this preconference will provide information on the background of RDA, including why we need a new version, demonstrations and instruction on navigating the official RDA Toolkit, and description and demonstration of other tools, such as the LC-PCC Policy Statements and Metadata Guidance Documentation. In addition, this hands-on session will offer specific examples of different types of materials, including tangible resources and online resources covering monograph, serial, geographic map, multimedia, etc., and a Q&A.
