CHICAGO—On Wednesday, May 12, Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures will present the webinar "Overview of XML Metadata Quality Assessment Tools". This webinar will provide an overview of the capabilities and drawbacks of several tools for XML metadata quality assessment, including XML Schema Definitions (XSD), Schematron, and OpenRefine. With an emphasis on how these tools can work together to create a more complete quality control process, the presentation will hopefully give attendees some ideas for how to improve their own QA/QC processes at their institutions and reduce time spent manually reviewing large batches of XML records. In addition, this webinar will provide attendees with an understanding of measures of metadata quality and the ability to instruct others in quality control issues; tools they can use for assessing metadata; and help them to improve their own metadata assessment workflows.
