ALA’s new Graphic Novels & Comics Round Table is open for membership

Membership in ALA’s newest round table – the Graphic Novels and Comics Round Table (GNCRT) is now open. Those who wish to join ALA can add GNCRT membership effective immediately and current ALA members can click the renew link on the ALA homepage, sign in and add the GNCRT to their membership at a prorated dues amount. Membership fees are: Personal, $15; Student/Support Staff/Unemployed, $5; and Corporate/Organizational, $30.

The Graphic Novels and Comics Round Table is dedicated to supporting library staff in all aspects of engaging with graphic novels and comics, including collection development, programming, and advocacy. GNCRT offers support to all types of libraries serving all types of users, whether the library is just beginning to build a collection, growing it, or finding new ways to promote the collection’s use and improve its visibility. GNCRT’s work includes presenting panels and creating pop up libraries at library conferences and comic conventions, administering the Will Eisner Graphic Novel Grants for Libraries, and providing networking opportunities for library staff and educators wanting to connect with other people who are involved with graphic novels and comics.
