CHICAGO — Members of the Public Library Association (PLA) and Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) can secure special pricing if they register early for the PLA 2018 Conference. The 2018 Conference will be held March 20-24 in the heart of downtown Philadelphia with most events taking place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Full-conference access is available for only $280 to PLA and PaLA members who register by Friday, Jan. 19. Nonmembers are encouraged to visit the PLA membership site or PaLA membership site (Pennsylvania libraries only) to take advantage of this savings opportunity.

Offered biennially, the PLA Conference is the premier event for public libraries, drawing thousands of librarians, library support staff, trustees, friends and library vendors from across the country and around the world.  Themed, “Imagine the Possibilities,” the PLA 2018 schedule is packed with extraordinary educational content, inspirational speakers, and memorable entertainment. The conference will feature distinctive networking events, opportunities to mingle with authors, a bustling exhibit hall and more than 100 educational programs carefully curated for public library professionals. The Big Ideas Series kicks off each day with a BIG idea with the potential to impact and empower the way you think, act, and work. The lineup of speakers includes former Deputy U.S. Attorney General Sally Yates, actor/comedian Hasan Minhaj, and Elizabeth Gilbert, author of the 2006 inspirational memoir "Eat Pray Love."
