RUSA BRASS Announces Dewey as Sponsor of Research Grant Award
The Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association, is pleased to announce that Dewey will serve as the new sponsor of the BRASS Research Grant Award.
The BRASS Research Grant Award supports research that advances business librarianship, previously funding projects that explore data access, business information use, and the evolving role of librarians in research and teaching.
Speaking on the commitment to partnering with librarians, Evan Barry, CEO and Founder of Dewey, shared:
"Business librarians have been essential partners in building Dewey. Their feedback shaped how we think about data discovery, licensing, and what researchers actually need to do their work. Sponsoring the BRASS Research Grant Award is our way of saying thank you and investing directly in the people who make that work possible. We love celebrating the business librarians who will shape the future of data access and acquisition in academic research."
Dewey makes data more accessible for academic research. Partnering with a growing number of premium business and social science data providers, Dewey offers researchers a unified platform to explore and access a wide array of datasets. Since its founding in 2022, Dewey Data has been committed to enriching the global knowledge base by facilitating widespread data access and recognizing the value of high-quality data sources.
BRASS extends its sincere gratitude to the members of the Vendor Relations Committee for their leadership in developing and sustaining this partnership: Lauren Reiter (Chair), Mary E. Carter, LuMarie Guth, Yu Huang, Charles D. Knight, Jr., Marina Lee Narvaez, and Michael R. Oppenheim.
BRASS also thanks RUSA for its support of the award, including bridge funding for the 2026 award cycle, which ensured continuity during the transition to new sponsorship.
