Carnegie-Whitney Grant 2026 Award Winners

The Carnegie-Whitney Grant provides grants for the preparation, either in print and/or electronically, of popular or scholarly reading lists, webliographies, indexes and other guides to library resources that will be useful to users of all types of libraries in the United States.

The American Library Association Publishing Committee is proud to announce the 2026 Carnegie-Whitney Grant winners, whose proposed projects promote reading or the use of library resources.

  • Faythe Beauchemin, Boston College - Developing a Digital Bibliographic Website for Young Children’s Climate Literacies
  • LaShonda Campbell - America’s Democratic Experiment: Research Guide and Resources on the Evolution of Political and Sociological Concepts as Dogma
  • Warren Cobb, University of South Carolina - Freedom Takes Root: A Digital Gateway to the Reconstruction Era
  • Lauren Kehoe - Scholarship on ALA’s Accessibility Resources for All Libraries Website
  • Sara Mautino, Oklahoma State - Documenting Indigenous Architecture: A Digital Bibliography for Oklahoma
  • Georgette Nicolosi, University of Missouri - Developing Whole-Collection Advisory for an Emerging Genre, Romantasy
  • Jorge Perez - Queer Bodies and Inclusive Medicine: A Bibliography of LGBTQ+ Health Resources for Professionals, Librarians, Educators, and Their Communities

Applications for the next cycle must be received by November 6, 2026. Recipients will be notified by the end of February 2027.
